2023 WBA Meeting minutes

-Minutes from 2022 meeting approved
-Treasurer report was read, approval motion by Aaron wood, Brandon Cole 2nd motion.
-Raffles: 2022 Bow winner Riley Bloom
Brandon cole motioned to do another bow raffle this year, Vader bow with a megamouth. Dave W. 2nd.
2022 Big fish winner Christopher James wanted to donate winnings back to big fish pots for 2023 tournaments. Will be doing the biggest carp again this year. Must be a member and must be weighed prior to the last tournament. $500
– Club money added to payouts. Brandon motioned to add $3000 again this year to the state shoot, along with plaques for first place. Josh Knutson 2nd
– Raffles at each shoot will be just donated prizes again. May do 50/50 at some
Donations/Volunteering: AMS Big 20 bow donation, Brandon motions to get a PSE Mud Dawg from F&D Archery and donate to AMS again. Josh 2nd
-Fishing expo in Madison. Will need volunteers. Contact Brandon Cole if interested.
Website Improvements: Need the Region rep map updated.
Team of the year awards: Numbers team of year- Ryan Louis, Cody Vollert, Colton Kraus, Noah Renner
Big 20 Team of the year: Drake Arne, Travis Pasbrig, Noah Krielkamp, Austin Cornell
Talked about the kicking bear event again. Usually have enough volunteers.
Talked about UWSP and DNR getting involved in a buffalo study.
Changes:
Payouts: No changes
Divisions: A motion to change big 20 back to big 30 (20 carp/buffalo and 10 others) approved by 17/8 vote.
Team of the year: Only changes will be that you will need to fill out a team of the year form at the first tournament to list your roster for the year. Can have up to 6 people total, and must have 2/3rd of the team or captain + one other present at each tournament.
One kid under 16 will now be able to shoot on your team as a 5th team member.
Legislative:
Erik Joost stepped down as Vice President, Noah Kreilkamp came forward for the position. No one opposed.

Tournaments:
-Number of tournaments was unanimously agreed to be 5 again.
-Cody Vollert proposes that we do a statewide shoot. Jesse Hintz 2nd.

– Then we had to vote which tournament would get eliminated. Green Bay had the most votes at 17.
– Tournaments voted on will be:
-Mud and Chub April 22nd Erik Joost director
– Castle Rock and Petenwell May 6th Brandon Cole director
– State wide State Championship May 27th Jesse Hintz director
-Mississippi pools 4-7 June 10th Josh Knutson director
-Mississippi pools 8-11 August 5th Nate Bray director
Hobby Class: Brandon proposed that we add a new division, called hobby class. Teams will have a $20 entry per person, big 10 format, and would be included in big fish and wild card. Would be smaller payouts but hopefully will attract younger/newer teams. No airboats in this division.
All were in favor.
Cody Vollert proposed that sign ups close 30 minute prior to tournament instead of 15. If team shows up late, they will call numbers and launch last. No one opposed.
Fred from F&D archery will be donating a bow to a kid under 16 that shows up to the most tournaments throughout the year.
