2012 WBA Annual Meeting Minutes

Announcements
Problems with light and noise complaints from the Madison chain of lakes. Please try to stay away from houses at night and don't linger if you have to pass by them.

We need person to write for the Midwest Outdoors or multiple people.

Have someone create a facebook page. We had a member volunteer to do this.

Officer elections
All remain the same except region 1
New region 1 rep Luke Gerke

Tournament discussion
Payout structure to remain the same
Expectations for the tournament director
Line up fish disposal
Set red zones and let people know what they will be well before the shoot
Contact local wardens and lake associations to inform them of the shoot
Help with registration and weigh in
The WBA will hold 8 tournaments this year.
There will again be a single team of the year. Points awarded will be about the same as last year with the exception of big fish points. Big fish winners will be rewarded with 25 points.
Teams must enter for team of the year at the first shoot they attend. You may have 3 persons listed. Two of the three must compete in a shoot for a team to collect points towards team of the year. Teams may have a sub shooter as long as two of the members listed are present.
We will again have a border war with MN on pools 4 and 5

Need to make a sponsor page on the website.

Big Fish Awards from 2011 presented.

UPDATE TO THE MINUTES:

Rumor has it that the new facebook page is up and running. I don't FB, could someone give a review?

Also, MN is on board with the Border War format, out of the same Alma launch we have been using.

Sponsor page has not been added to our website as of yet, but I am being told that this is being worked on.

if anyone has anything else they would like to add, feel free.

Out of the unknown number of visitors to our Facebook page, 46 people have "liked" the page so far. Our Facebook administrator has made a few bowfishing related comments, and he also has The Mud and Chub, as well as the Petenwell tournaments posted on our "wall". A few bowfisherman have also made random comments. We also have about a half dozen photos so far.

"Wisconsin Outdoor Fun" (listed below) shared a link on our wall, and "Bowfishing Tournaments Nationwide" (listed below) has invited us to post our tournament info on their wall.

It's still in it's infancy, but we should pick up steam. Our facebook page could mirror our website pretty closely, but that might bring in new users who frequent facebook, but would never visit our website. So in my opinion, I think having one is a good idea.
